Hi! I am Nicole Kendrick, the District Manager for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). If you’ve never heard of the CFIB, we represent over 114 000 independently owned and operated businesses throughout Canada. We are the largest lobbying group in Canada and represent all types of businesses/business owners – we fight for you! For example, in the first 9 days after the mandatory closure of non-essential businesses, the CFIB was able to convince the government to increase the wage subsidy from 10% to 75%. This was a huge victory for all business owners as we move through these challenging times! We have also continued to put pressure on the government to make sure that all business owners qualify for some type of relief. CEWS, CERB, CECRAP- all of these are wonderful options for financial assistance, but many business owners are falling through the cracks. In addition, we are providing business owners with the latest information on coping with COVID-19, i.e. how to keep their business running, how to keep employees safe, etc. Our standard at CFIB, is to provide expert advice and resources that small businesses need. We support you on the issues that you are facing and help business owners stay compliant with the everchanging regulations. We are your HR specialist! We provide monthly newsletters, webinars and have personnel you can speak with – and right now all this is free! We also like to make sure you keep your hard-earned money in your pocket! We have negotiated discounts on vital services with carefully selected providers like CHASE, SCOTIA BANK, and QuickBooks (just to name a few), not to mention- there are no long-term contracts. CFIB is a Non-Profit, Non-Partisan organization that helps set your business up for success by giving expert advice, great savings and helping to push for policies that support your business. CFIB and our members have always supported each other during uncertain times, now more than ever we need to stick together. At times like these, it takes all of us working together. If you have any questions about becoming a member of CFIB or would like more information on the services we provide, please let me know and I will gladly assist you!
